Allardyce not concerned by Emre news

Posted on 10th September 2007

Newcastle UnitedNewcastle United manager Sam Allardyce has played down the news that Emre wants to leave the club. The Turkish player has said that he expects to leave the club when the transfer window reopens in January.

Former club Galatasaray have expressed an interest in resigning the player. Emre started his career as a youth player there before moving to Italian side Inter. However, Newcastle boss Allardyce has moved to quell any talk of a move. The twenty-seven year old joined The Magpies in the summer of 2005.

“It’s not an issue at the moment,” said Allardyce in The Newcastle Chronicle. “There is no chance of him going back to Turkey because the transfer window is shut, so he can’t go anywhere.”
