Emre wants to pack his bags and leave

Newcastle UnitedNewcastle United player Emre wants to leave the North East and head for Galatasaray in January. The Turk is fit again following an injury but does not see a future at Newcastle United for himself. “I want to go back to Galatasaray, and they want me,” said Emre.

Emre has now openly declared his wish to return to Istanbul, with Galatasaray also revealing they are keen to re-sign him, six years after he left for Inter Milan. Emre made his first appearance under Allardyce in Newcastle United’s Carling Cup win over Barnsley eleven days ago but did not even feature on the bench for the Premiership clash with Wigan last weekend.

Meanwhile Newcastle United will make Steven Taylor a new contract offer. The Evening Chronicle says United chairman Chris Mort will see Taylor’s dad Alf, who is looking after his son’s affairs, because, unlike most players in the Premier League, the defender chooses not to have an agent. It is the financial aspects of the contract which have left the Taylor camp unhappy, but Toon chiefs hope to end the row with their improved offer.
