Horwood and Wheater extend Quakers’ deals

Posted on 31st January 2007

DarlingtonHorwood is on loan from Sheffield United and has been suspended for the last two games thanks to a red card at Bury. Horwood had a previous loan spell with Quakers earlier in the campaign. The loan spell in the middle of October came when Martin Gray bought the Hartlepool born player to the club during his time as caretaker manager. He made his debut in the 1-1 draw at Hereford United but played only one more game.

The left back picked up a leg injury, initially thought to be a dead leg, and he was sent back to the Blades to recover. Horwood however was given a second loan spell with Quakers in January 2007 when Dave Penney bought him to the club to add further competition to the defence. That deal has now been extended until the end of the season.

Meanwhile Wheater has seen his loan extended for a further today. The Middlesbrough player has impressed during his time at the club and scored the equalising goal in Quakers’ 3-1 win against Peterborough United.
