Keane faces selection problem

SunderlandSunderland manager Roy Keane faces a selection problem ahead of the game with Sheffield Wednesday this weekend. Stanislav Varga is in contention for the game at Hillsborough on Saturday after recovering from a thigh injury. However the good form of Nyron Nosworthy’s means Varga may not be guaranteed his place.

Nosworthy, normally a full-back, played at centre-half and impressed alongside Jonny Evans in last weekend's 1-0 win over Ipswich. “They both did very well, they give us that extra bit of pace. They struck up a relationship very quickly which was nice to see. It gives me one or two problems when some of the other lads come back, but nice problems,” said Keane.

Keane has said that he sees Nosworthy’s long-term future as a central defender.”I think Nyron looks more comfortable there. He prefers right-back but we prefer to look at him as centre-half now - so there could be a problem! I’m sure that as long as he's playing, he's happy. He did very well against Ipswich,” said the Sunderland manager.
