Roeder waiting for answers

Posted on 11th January 2007

Newcastle UnitedNewcastle United manager Glenn Roeder has moved closer to bringing in his first signings in the January transfer window. But it remains to be seen whether the United boss can get a much–needed defender in before Sunday's televised game at White Hart Lane.

"We have made our inquiries for a couple of players and now we are waiting for answers – hopefully these answers will be positive," said Roeder. "But the days when transfers could be done in 24 hours are long gone because there are so many people involved, like chairmen, managers, agents, chief executives and the players themselves."

Newcastle United continue to be linked with a number of the players. The latest is Inter Milan's left–back Marco Andreolli. However Roeder has denied he is interested in the player saying "He is not a player I am interested in."
