Hartlepool UnitedHartlepool United have completed a deal to bring Andy Monkhouse to the club following a successful loan spell in the North East. The twenty–six year old finally put pen to paper on a permanent deal following a medial much to the delight of manager Danny Wilson. Monkhouse has done very for Pools during his loan spell from Swindon Town, featuring in the winning side in each of his eight matches for the club, scoring three vital goals in the process.

"Andy was been a bit of a talisman for us during his loan spell," boss Wilson joked. "It is great to have him back. We are delighted to sign him. Andy brings great balance to the side, has good passing and movement and he has great enthusiasm. I think everybody saw what he is all about during his time on loan. The most important thing for us is that is adds to the competition for places we have at the club. I think the lads will be happy to have him back and I'm sure the fans will be delighted as well."

Monkhouse has taken no time to settle in at all and Wilson believes this is a credit to the player. "Sometimes it takes players a bit of time to settle in at a new club but the great thing was Andy was that he slotted in right away when he was here on loan. That is great credit to him. He showed that he wanted to be here and showed a lot of commitment in training and on the field. But that works both ways. The squad here is very welcoming and took him into their arms. They have respect for him because they know he is a good player. They know that the squad is stronger with Andy in it," said Wilson.
